Cylindrical Capacitor Jewellery Set

A surplus collection of unused electronic components have been repurposed by being skillfully linked together to form a very attractive, chunky jewellery set. Blue and silver capacitors alternate with black diodes around the necklace and bracelet. Both are fitted with a brand new lobster claw clasp. Little gold coloured ball ends, previously used on a guitar belonging to the designer-maker (who is also a musician), form part of the matching blue cylinder earrings.

Each set includes a necklace, bracelet and matching earrings.

Made by: Tom Drinkwater Location: York, England Background: I’m a musician in the bohemian art-folk duo Pillowfish and play the guitar and bouzouki (similar to a mandolin). Inspiration: I started making jewellery from surplus electrical components as an extension of my amp repair work. My jewellery also incorporates brass ball ends which are left over as a result of changing guitar strings. Best compliment: I hope my designs appeal to musicians, engineers, electrical enthusiasts and anyone interested in using recycled found objects as art.
