Retired army bags revamped for civvy street.

Previously used by the Dutch Army as gas mask bags, these strong canvas satchels have been issued with a new uniform made from vintage Scandinavian fabric.

Each bag comes with an adjustable cotton strap which can be lengthened to wear the bag diagonally. An inner divider provides three compartments and there's an additional small inner pocket. The fabric flap closes with a choice of two press studs, one set higher than the other which allows for expansion. The bags may bear signs of an active past, but they've got a lot of service left to offer in their new civilian life.

Each Civvy Street Bag has a different front made from 1960's and 70's fabric. No two bags are exactly the same and each is listed individually on our website.

The bag you will receive is shown in the largest photo. The four smaller photos are samples to illustrate the side and inside of the bag.

She and husband Andy use vintage fabrics to revamp ex-army bags and make children’s clothing. Inspiration: “The fact that much of our business is made from recycled materials is a reflection of our efforts as individuals to be green. As designers we do feel a responsibility to highlight recycling and perhaps show what’s possible when green sourcing.”
